Hawaii - So Enchanting

Hawaii, translated from the ancient Hawaiian language means paradise., And that is an apt description because that is exactly what it is.
Consisting of the main island of Hawaii - called the Big Island, along with the five most signifcant others - Kauai(kah-WAH-ee) to the north, Oahu(oh-AH-hoo) which lies a little south of Kauai, Molokai(moh-loh-KAH-ee), Lanai(lah-NAH-ee), Maui(MOW-ee) clustered in the center and a little north of the Big Island, a Hawaii vacation is an excellent choice for all tastes.

The Hawaiian People

Though each island has its own personality, one thing remains common to all - the warmth of the people inhabiting and living on these islands. This warmth is bound to rub off on you as you interact with the people on the islands.
Known for its aloha spirit(pronounced ah-LOH-hah), which in Native Hawaiian means greetins, love, kindness. It is now widely used to say hello and goodbye.

The people come from several backgrounds - Polynesian, Asian (the largest ethnicity), European, African American. Over half of the Hawaiian children have mixed ethnic backgrounds.

Hawaiian Climate

Hawaii has a climate that varies only several degrees in temperature year round and the sun is always shining with differring levels of humidy throughout the seasons. With an average 75 degrees Fahrenheit (24 degrees C), the weather is pleasant all year.

Winter is one of the most popular times of year to visit Hawaii. This is probably because while it is cold and dreary just about
everywhere else in the United States, Hawaii is the perfect getaway, especially for Californians as it is only about a three hour flight from the US mainland.
